American Village’s Independence Day celebration is one of the most immersive and historically rich Fourth of July events in Alabama — a full day of patriotic activities, living history, and community celebration on the grounds of Montevallo’s remarkable replica of America’s founding landmarks.
What’s Included
With 50+ patriotic activities spread across the grounds, there is genuinely something for every member of the family:
- Independence Day Ball — a formal dance in the colonial tradition
- Colonial games — period-appropriate games and activities for all ages
- Battle at Concord Bridge reenactment — a dramatic living history performance of one of the Revolution’s pivotal engagements
- Historical figures — costumed interpreters portraying Founders and Revolutionary-era figures
- Live music — patriotic and period music throughout the day
- Food vendors — a full selection of food and refreshments on site
- Grand fireworks finale — a spectacular fireworks display over Independence Hall at 9:00 PM

The Setting
American Village is a one-of-a-kind destination — a living history site featuring meticulous replicas of Independence Hall, the Capitol building, Mount Vernon, and other landmarks of the founding era. There is no more fitting place in Alabama to spend the Fourth of July.
When
